At Bartley Glass we fit and manufacture a huge variety of new window and door systems – not just your standard double glazing replacement. Although, don’t get me wrong, we replace so many household double glazed units that I could do it in my sleep – not that I dream about windows all night…much! Anyway, that is a different story!
One of the recent jobs I wanted to share with you was a bit of a tough one but the results looked amazing.
Full Length Glazed Fitted Units
Bartley Glass fitted some elegant, stylish Glazed Screens to a patio terrace at Bryne Jones House, in Birmingham. The building is now a set of luxury serviced apartments by City Quarters. They are the ideal place to stay in the city if you are looking for an alternative to a hotel – spacious, light and modern; right up my street!
Well, City Quarters came to us to ask us to fit some safe glass screens to the terrace. The existing structure was no longer suitable and the company wanted a sleek, new finish to match their existing patio door to the terrace. The glazed screens are stationary and just needed to look good and be secure. Sounds simple enough? Wrong! It was a challenging job, access to the site was extremely limited and it caused us one or two health and safety nightmares.
In the end, the windows had to arrive in kit form and be assembled on the terrace – it was the only way we could get them up! Similarly, the existing windows and frames which were due to be removed had to be broken down, section by section to allow for a safe removal and disposal.
I have to say though, we are so pleased with the results! I think the windows look fantastic and I was so pleased the decision was made to use white frames on the inside and the grey on the outside. A stylish finish which looks great on the patio and still nice and bright on the inside!
