Well we have had a busy few weeks here at Bartley Glass and Windows, it has been chock-a-block full of random fittings and repairs. As you may be aware, we do not just supply and fit new UPVC windows for the general public, oh no! For our sins, we can also repair and replace pretty much any glass for a huge range of local businesses, and the last week or so has thrown up a multitude of these.
We have been busy with lots of window repairs at Tulip Gardens Nursing Home in Selly Oak. As part of regular maintenance we have replaced broken handles, fitted window restrictors and new locking mechanisms to say the least. Lots and lots going on over there which has kept our hand full and us out of mischief for at least a couple of days!
Keeping with the business side of things, we carry out a number of repairs and maintenance work for a letting agent in Harborne. Obviously, once tenants have moved out of a property the company like to make sure it is in good shape ready for new ones so we regularly carry out repairs and replace the occasional window, this time it was a little different though.
An interior wooden door required a panel of glass cut to size, although it wasn’t quite as straight forward as that… oh no! We had to remove the door to take a template of the glass size and shape required. Not satisfied with that, we decided the best level of service we could offer, was to bring the entire door back here to get a perfect template and allow for an expert finish on the installation of the replacement glass. Once it had been cut and toughened, we fit the new glass in its frame (what do you know – it was a perfect fit!) We then took the newly completed door back to its home and refit it – great job!
Then to round off the week we fitted some absolutely gorgeous internal bi-fold doors into a residential property in Bromsgrove. We have done some previous work on this house and were more than happy to be back and fitting the wonderful doors, which have complete transformed the space.
So, what was the point of telling you about our hectic week, really it was both to give me something to talk about, let you into our little world at Bartley Glass and show you we are more than just window fitters.
